UniversiTools Course Scheduler

UniversiTools Course Scheduler generates time-tables/schedules for the courses offered for the semester, term, or other time periods.

SETUP

Running Course Scheduler requires first setting some parameters as well as providing the data for the course sections. Typically, this data is easily imported from the student information system or from external data files (txt, Excel, rtf).

Parameters

  • Course credit hours, number of sessions and days per week, break intervals, capacity, and location preferences
  • Daily start and end times of the classes
  • Maximum number of students seated at any given hour or session
  • Maximum number of daily classes that the instructor gives
  • Reserving specific hours for the university, faculty, or department for staff meetings, events, or other activities
  • Grouping courses by instructor or time period, such as grouping the different sections of a particular course in one larger section
  • Forcing certain courses to be scheduled at different times, thus allowing students to register for a set of courses without any conflict

Data

  • Instructor name and course load
  • Students registered for the courses, and course registration data

SCHEDULING ENGINE

Once the set-up is complete, run the Course Scheduler to automatically generate schedules/time-tables showing which courses are given by which instructors and at what times.

Graphical representations allow you to clearly see the times and days for any given instructor or course.

Analytic data gives you insight on course distributions, instructor loads, and peak and low times.

You may print physical copies of the course schedules.
